Starting our Journey!
It feels today as if God has parted the Red Sea, enabling our team to depart from San Francisco to make the long journey to Zimbabwe! Our journey will involve an overnight layover in Doha, Qatar. As Christine reported yesterday, we started the week with the Qatari ministry of foreign affairs closing their air space, given the Iranian attack on a U.S. military base in Doha.
Over the past three days we have seen Qatar flights to and from Doha both delayed and canceled. So it feels like a miracle for our flight to be departing today on schedule. The conviction that God is making a way for our team is very strong, as we have been entirely depending on His provision and wisdom to go forward with our plans. It has been a good lesson of dependence, as we’ve had to hold all of “our” plans loosely and allow them to fully become “His” plans.
Thank you again for your prayers for God to protect, provide, and guide. We desire for our hearts to be transformed and that God will work in and through each of us to bless the 51 precious orphans in Zimbabwe who have been selected to participate in Vacation Bible School.
