Tahoe Weekend Away FAQ

I'm a solo parent attending with my child(ren), age 0–12. What’s the best way to register for a hotel room?

Choose single occupancy for the hotel room selection. Then add your child(ren) who are age 0-12 as additional family members on the next section of the form.

I’m a single adult and I’d like to share a room with two friends. Are there any rooms with three beds? How would the pricing work?

Yes, there are a few rooms with three queen beds. Please contact Katharine Sherwin, katharine@ncc.church, for room availability and triple occupancy pricing.

What is the plan for children during this retreat?

Children are joyfully included in all of our gatherings and activities under the supervision of their parents. We believe their presence adds a beautiful energy and authenticity to our shared time—reminding us of wonder, spontaneity, and connection across generations. Whether it’s through singing, storytelling, or simply being in the space with us, children are not only welcome but an important part of our retreat community. We trust that their participation, even in their unique ways, enriches the experience for everyone.

My child wants to bring a friend along. Is that possible?

Yes, absolutely! Go ahead and register the friend as one of your own kids, but we will need to have the friend’s parent/guardian sign a hard copy waiver/release agreement and return it to us. Please email Katharine Sherwin, katharine@ncc.church.

I’m already registered, and now another family member (or my child’s friend) wants to go as well. Can you add them?

Yes, this is definitely possible, as long as it occurs by July 31 and there is bed space for them to stay in your room. Please email Katharine Sherwin, katharine@ncc.church; she will help you update your registration and collect the additional payment.

I can’t be there for the whole weekend. Can I pay just for the nights I’m there?

While we’d love to be flexible, pricing is for the full weekend stay, even if you're only able to attend part of it.

I need to cancel after the May 30 cut-off date. If I find someone to take my (or my family’s) place, can I get a refund?

Registration fees have been non-refundable since May 31, as explained on the registration form when you signed up. HOWEVER…

  • If your cancellation occurs by July 31 AND you can find someone else to take your place for the same or higher $ amount, you may receive a full refund. Registrations are not transferable; the replacement person/family must register and pay for themselves no later than August 1 before we can issue your refund.

  • No refunds or new registrations after August 1.
